The fourth Dates and Honey Exhibition opened at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre under the slogan “Its Goodness Precedes It.” The event brings together around 100 institutions and companies, including small and medium-sized enterprises, producers, manufacturers, exporters, importers and entrepreneurs working in the dates and honey sector. The exhibition is being held under the patronage of Dr. Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Saqri, Economic Advisor at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs. Organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in partnership with Oman Agriculture Development Company, the event will continue until October 23, 2026.
The exhibition highlights the quality and variety of Omani dates, honey and related products while celebrating the country's agricultural heritage. Oman has a long-standing association with date palm cultivation, and dates and honey remain important products within its agricultural and food sectors. The event provides a platform for local producers to present their products to consumers, businesses and potential commercial partners. By showcasing local varieties and product diversity, the exhibition aims to strengthen the visibility of Omani agricultural products in domestic and international markets.
Approximately 100 companies and institutions are participating in this year's exhibition. Participants represent different stages of the dates and honey supply chain, including production, processing, manufacturing, packaging, exporting and importing. The exhibition gives businesses an opportunity to introduce their products, connect with customers and explore new trade and investment opportunities. It also provides entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises with a platform to promote their brands and build relationships with potential buyers and business partners.

Yahya bin Khalfan Al-Hadidi, Director of the Marketing Department at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, told Oman News Agency that this year's edition places emphasis on product marketing identity, quality requirements and packaging standards. According to Al-Hadidi, attention has been given to laboratory testing for honey and quality certification for products and packaging. These measures are intended to help participating businesses improve product presentation and meet requirements associated with entering overseas markets. The exhibition also focuses on producers and marketers with the potential to compete in wider markets. Improved branding, packaging and quality standards can help Omani businesses strengthen their market position and explore opportunities beyond the domestic market.
The event also showcases modern technologies and applications used in the production, processing and packaging of dates and honey. It encourages producers, manufacturers and entrepreneurs to exchange knowledge and practical experience. The adoption of improved production methods and packaging solutions can support product quality, efficiency and competitiveness. By bringing businesses together, the exhibition aims to encourage innovation and help develop commercial opportunities throughout the dates and honey sector.
Promoting local products is a central objective of the exhibition. Organisers aim to encourage consumers to choose Omani products while helping local businesses expand their customer base and marketing networks. Stronger domestic demand and improved access to regional and international markets can create opportunities for producers and contribute to economic activity. The exhibition also supports broader efforts to develop agriculture and strengthen food security by highlighting the value of locally produced food products.
The fourth Dates and Honey Exhibition is open to visitors daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and will run until October 23, 2026, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat. Visitors can explore different varieties of dates, honey and related products, meet producers and business owners, and learn about the products and methods presented by participating companies. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has encouraged citizens and residents to visit the exhibition and support local businesses. The event serves as a specialised platform for showcasing Oman's agricultural products, connecting businesses and promoting quality, innovation and investment in the dates and honey sector.
