Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud inaugurated a medical centre and Military Medical Committee clinics at a security complex in eastern Riyadh on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, according to a report published by Arab News on October 22. Both facilities operate under the Ministry of Interior’s medical services and are intended to improve access to healthcare for beneficiaries.
Following the inauguration, Prince Abdulaziz toured the medical centre and received a briefing on its facilities, equipment and available medical services. The centre provides emergency care and general medicine, alongside physical therapy, rehabilitation and pharmacy services. These services are designed to support patients requiring medical assessment, treatment and recovery support.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the new facilities aim to improve the efficiency of healthcare services and make them more accessible to beneficiaries. Bringing different services together at the security complex may help eligible users access relevant medical support more conveniently. The announcement did not specify the centre’s capacity, staffing levels or the number of patients expected to use the facilities.
Prince Abdulaziz also inaugurated the Military Medical Committee clinics. These clinics conduct medical examinations and assess whether applicants meet the medical fitness requirements for joining Saudi Arabia’s security sectors. The assessments form part of the recruitment process, helping determine whether candidates meet the relevant health standards for their intended roles.
The new centre and committee clinics are affiliated with the Ministry of Interior’s medical services. Their functions cover both healthcare delivery and medical assessments for prospective security personnel. The facilities represent an additional service point within the ministry’s medical network in Riyadh, although the official report did not provide details about any wider expansion plan.
Physical therapy and rehabilitation are among the services available at the medical centre. These services can support patients who need help recovering movement and physical function following illness or injury, depending on their individual medical needs. The centre also offers pharmacy services, providing another component of the healthcare support available at the complex.
The inauguration adds medical facilities serving beneficiaries connected with the Ministry of Interior’s healthcare services. By combining emergency care, general medicine, rehabilitation and pharmacy services with dedicated medical fitness assessments, the complex serves two distinct purposes: healthcare delivery and the evaluation of security sector applicants. Further details about operating hours, eligibility and service capacity were not included in the published report.
