Oman Sultan Sends Condolences to Dubai Ruler

Oman Conveys Condolences to Dubai

On the instructions of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sayyid Harib bin Thuwaini Al Said conveyed the Sultan’s condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The condolences followed the death of Sheikh Mohammed’s brother, Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Condolences Delivered in Dubai

The condolence message was conveyed on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The visit reflected the official condolences of Oman’s leadership to the Ruler of Dubai and the Al Maktoum family following the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid.

Sayyid Harib Represents Sultan Haitham

Sayyid Harib bin Thuwaini Al Said delivered the condolences on behalf of Sultan Haitham. Oman’s official reporting said the visit took place under the Sultan’s instructions.

Omani Officials Accompanied the Visit

Sayyid Harib was accompanied by Dr Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Oman’s Minister of Information, and Dr Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs. Sayyid Dr Ahmed bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Oman’s Ambassador to the UAE, also accompanied the delegation.

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum died on September 21, 2026. His death has led to official condolences from leaders and senior officials in the UAE and from figures outside the country. Dubai has also observed an official mourning period following his death.

Regional Condolences Continue

The Omani condolence visit is part of the wider regional response following Sheikh Ahmed’s death. Official representatives and leaders have conveyed their condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and members of the Al Maktoum familyThe condolence visit also reflects the close official relationship between Oman and the United Arab Emirates. The meeting focused on expressing sympathy to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and his family following the loss.
