Energy, renewable energy and hydrogen were among the key sectors discussed during the meeting. Oman is seeking investment and expertise that can support economic diversification and the development of sustainable energy projects. The discussions also covered water and resource management, as well as technologies that convert waste into energy.
The meeting explored additional opportunities in space, advanced technologies, digital services, engineering, transport, infrastructure and healthcare. Representatives from French businesses, consulting firms, financial institutions, legal service providers and healthcare organisations participated. Their involvement created opportunities to exchange expertise and explore potential commercial partnerships across several industries.
Ibtisam Al Farouji said France was an important market in Oman's efforts to attract quality investment. She explained that the current focus was on matching investment opportunities in Oman with the needs of investors and their international growth plans. She also highlighted the value of French expertise, technology and capabilities in developing projects and strengthening economic value chains.
Oman's Ambassador to France, Ahmed Al Araimi, said meetings between the two business communities could help expand economic cooperation. He noted that existing relations between Oman and France provide a foundation for wider commercial partnerships. The embassy aims to provide platforms where French companies can learn directly about Oman's market potential and identify opportunities for cooperation.
The meeting forms part of the broader Invest in Oman initiative to attract companies with strong investment potential and connect them with suitable projects. By focusing on priority sectors and investors' specific needs, Oman aims to build sustainable business partnerships, expand economic activity and support its economic diversification goals. The discussions could open pathways for further engagement between Omani institutions and French companies.
