In a captivating display of cycling prowess, Jhonatan Narváez triumphed in Stage 11 of the Giro d’Italia on Wednesday, securing a significant win for UAE Team Emirates-XRG. This victory marks the Emirati team's fourth stage victory in the ongoing race, achieved amid the rugged hills linking Tuscany and Liguria.
Narváez showcased remarkable endurance, successfully fending off fierce competition from Enric Mas, who finished closely behind in second place after a gripping sprint finish that left spectators on the edge of their seats.
Despite earlier setbacks, where Narváez and his teammates lagged behind the initial breakaway, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG excelled in regrouping and collaborating effectively to reintegrate Narváez into the leading pack.
With this latest achievement, UAE Team Emirates-XRG has solidified its dominance in the Giro d’Italia 2026, achieving four stage wins within the first 11 days of the competition.
As of the end of Stage 11, Afonso Eulálio of Bahrain Victorious holds the overall lead in the general classification, with a total time of 44:17:41, followed closely by Jonas Vingegaard of Visma-Lease a Bike, who trails by 27 seconds. Thymen Arensman from Netcompany Ineos rounds out the top three at 1 minute and 57 seconds behind the leader.
