Cambodia Initiates UN Process for Maritime Claims Against Thailand

Cambodia has officially launched a dispute resolution process under the framework of the United Nations, aimed at addressing maritime claims that overlap with Thailand in the Gulf of Thailand. This significant step highlights Phnom Penh's commitment to finding an international legal resolution to the longstanding territorial disagreement with its neighbor.

At the heart of the dispute are maritime regions thought to harbor significant reserves of oil and natural gas.
