A harrowing video captures an Afghan child migrant suffering from life-threatening hypothermia and severe frostbite while stranded in a snow-covered area at the Türkiye border during a smuggling attempt. The child had lost sensation in extremities and was in critical condition when discovered by fellow Afghan travelers.

Non-medical personnel courageously pulled the child from the snowbank and moved them to a warmer location, preventing further deterioration from advanced cold injuries.

The incident starkly highlights the dangers of migrant smuggling routes, the extreme seasonal weather hazards, and the desperate risks families take, exposing the human cost and vulnerability of migrants fighting for survival.
